Coordinating relocations for those escaping abuse involves a complex network of volunteers - intake coordinators, move coordinators, drivers, and movers. This demands meticulous planning, seamless coordination, and effective communication. To enhance the process, Shelter Movers seeks a comprehensive system to facilitate, coordinate, and execute every step of the journey. This solution simplifies logistics and supports individuals and families in transition.

We empower abuse survivors via volunteer-driven moving services, ensuring a dignified transition. Our mission is enabled by a system that optimizes volunteer coordination, communication, and relocation planning. Through technology, we offer a secure, supportive environment for the entire process, allowing a focus on healing and independence. Together, we drive positive change for individuals and families, fostering hope and empowerment in every move.

Problems

Design

The intake coordinator initiates the process by accessing the web form generator.

They complete essential details about the referral agency's information.

Once the form is generated, it is sent to the client. The client then provides their information via the form, detailing their movement preferences.

After receiving the client's input, the coordinator finalizes the movement arrangements based on the provided information, ensuring a seamless and tailored experience.

Impact

The application will be utilized by a considerable cohort of volunteers spanning the entirety of the nation.

It is slated for deployment in more than 11 cities throughout Canada, catering to a volunteer base exceeding 2500 individuals.

Furthermore, the application's utilization is anticipated to extend to facilitating services for over 150 clients on a monthly basis. The profound implication here lies in the app's direct correlation to augmenting operational throughput, thereby substantively amplifying the overall count of completed relocations.

This, in turn, will yield a heightened capability to extend assistance to a larger populace. This endeavor has underscored the paramount significance of design, serving as a truly inspirational touchstone for my role as a designer.
